beRecruited.com adds community service component to academic and athletic profiles with weekly, monthly and annual M Award winners. Shows college coaches a student's depth on and off the field, and helps high school athletes get recruited.

College coaches are looking for the student athletes who are leaders in their game as well as in their communities, said Jeff Cravens, president of beRecruited.com

beRecruited.com and The M Foundation, MISSION Skincare’s just-announced non-profit organization that promotes healthy athletic performance on the field and recognizes charitable achievements of young athletes off the field, have partnered to encourage and highlight well-rounded high school athletes who take their commitment to winning into their communities.

A community service component has been added to the athletic and academic profile students create on beRecruited.com to show college coaches a student’s depth on and off the field. Each week, beRecruited and The M Foundation will select a varsity-level student athlete who consistently lives up to the values of community and dedication to a healthy lifestyle. This student will be recognized directly by one of The M Foundation's elite professional athletes (listed below) with a Recognition M Award. Once a month, one of the weekly winners will be selected to receive an M Award Scholarship for college. At the end of the year, one award winner will be selected to receive a $10,000 college scholarship and will also have a $10,000 donation made in their name to the local charity of their choice.

More than 200 students have already completed their community profile and are eligible to win a Recognition M Award. The profile and nomination form is available on beRecruited.com or themfoundation.org.

College coaches are looking for the student athletes who are leaders in their game as well as in their communities,” said Jeff Cravens, president of beRecruited.com. “By incorporating a student’s current community service commitments, their future service plans and their healthy lifestyle choices into their profile, they have a chance to showcase to a prospective coach their dedication to performance on and off the field.”

beRecruited has made more than six million connections between student athletes and coaches in 2010. By creating a profile with beRecruited, high school athletes can instantly connect with registered college coaches across America. Athletes update their profiles with recent statistics, videos and photos while researching the programs that offer both their sport and their area of academic interest through the Colleges section. College coaches can view the profiles that fit their programs and connect with the athletes. Coaches are alerted via e-mail when an athlete fits their parameters.

The M Foundation ignites the social impact objective of the brand forged by some of the world’s greatest athletes such as Serena Williams, Steve Nash, David Wright, Billie Jean King, Mia Hamm, Amanda Beard, Sergio Garcia, Georges St-Pierre, Gretchen Bleiler and Alonzo Mourning.
