Company to host FREE CAE software workshop.

Solutions encompassing every flow passage are run in Pushbutton CFD, which is most immediately useful for off-design volute analysis but applicable to any machine design.

Concepts NREC will host a complimentary Turbomachinery CAE Software Workshop at the Turbomachinery Symposium,” says George Zitka, PE, Senior Sales Manager, for Concepts NREC. “We will focus on advanced volute design, full CFD and turbocharger matching.

Following on the heels of its successful August Agile Engineering Design System® (AEDS) 2010 and TurboMatch™ software launches, Concepts NREC (CN), a world leader in turbomachinery design, research, engineering, and manufacturing, today announced that company representatives will hold a free Turbomachinery Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) software workshop in conjunction with the 39th Annual Turbomachinery Symposium. Concepts NREC will be an exhibitor at the show in Booth #730 October 5-7 at the George R. Brown Convention Center, 1001 Avenida de las Americas, Houston, Texas. The free Concepts NREC CAE Software Workshop, including complimentary breakfast buffet, will be Wednesday, October 6, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Hilton Americas-Houston in Room 337A-B. Engineers and business executives specializing in turbomachinery will benefit from Concepts NREC’s 50+ years of turbomachinery expertise.

“Concepts NREC is proud to host its complimentary Turbomachinery CAE Software Workshop at the 39th Turbomachinery Symposium,” says George Zitka, PE, Senior Sales Manager, for Concepts NREC. “We will focus on the advanced volute design, full computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and turbocharger matching capabilities of our software, because we know from listening to our customers that this is what today’s engineers need.”

Free Concepts NREC Turbomachinery CAE Software Workshop: Attendees will view a demonstration of the top features found in AEDS 2010 and TurboMatch. Specifically, topics will include:

1. Advanced Volute design – How to use AEDS 2010 for a step or shelf on either (or both) sides of the volute for pump style types.
2. Full 360 CFD – For flow passages run in Pushbutton CFD®, which is mostly used for off-design volute analysis, but is applicable to any machine design.
3. Turbocharger matching – How TurboMatch™ is used for system-level modeling of key components in a turbocharger system, including the intake, compressor, intercooler, engine, turbine, waste gate and exhaust.

AEDS 2010: Concepts NREC's AEDS 2010 software covers all aspects of turbomachinery design and analysis. Its integrated computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools help in the development of rotating machinery such as turbines, compressors, fans and pumps from preliminary design, detailed design, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and finite element analysis (FEA) to optimization.

TurboMatch: TurboMatch is the first commercially available software that incorporates advanced compressor and turbine design as part of an overall engine system. The integrated approach accommodates the complex interaction between the system components to give anyone responsible for the design, specification, or building of turbocharged engines an accurate, fast and easy-to-use tool for developing products that meet ever stricter emissions standards and regulations.

The 39th Turbomachinery Symposium will run October 5 through October 7. Concepts NREC will be a key exhibitor at this exposition, located in Booth #730.
