Lane End Sales and Marketing Manager Heni Fourie said: “We realise how time consuming it can be to organise conferences and events, but we also know how important it is to understand the space.

“Therefore, if you can’t find the time to visit us, we will visit you and present the space virtually through an online tool.”

Traditionally, residential conference venues have always suggested that the client goes to them when viewing and booking space.

But the team from Lane End Conference Centre in Buckinghamshire wants to break the mould and “take the venue to the clients” – by going to their premises to offer their knowledge and expertise and plan the event alongside the client.

Even though Lane End is just 30 miles from London and readily accessible from the capital, organisers believe it is important to make viewing and booking meeting room venues as quick and easy as possible.

Lane End’s other major initiative – believed to be a UK first – is a new one-day course delivered by Micomms Ltd for business people who have been forced by budget cutbacks to bring their conference-planning in-house.

Effectively it is an intensive course in events management for people who have never managed events.

The Event Organisers' Masterclass is accredited as part of the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s Chartered CPD Programme. It is aimed at organisations that previously would have used event organisers but can no longer do so in the current financial climate.

HR executives are particularly likely to benefit. Increasing numbers of HR managers are being faced with organising conferences at very short notice – without the budget to outsource the task.

It is also likely to appeal to companies looking for residential training venues that can add extra value to their package.
