Harrisburg, PA (PRWEB) October 04, 2012
Conrad Siegel Actuaries, delivering comprehensive employee benefits services, is pleased to announce that its founder, Conrad (Connie) Siegel, has been named to the 2012 Central Penn Business Hall of Fame.
The Central Penn Business Journal created the prestigious Business of the Year Awards and the Central Penn Business Hall of Fame to recognize individuals who have made their mark on Central Pennsylvania. The successful business leaders being honored have overcome odds and obstacles to build an outstanding company through solid determination, strong ethics, visionary leadership and deep commitment to their families, customers, employees and communities.
“Connie is exactly what the Hall of Fame stands for. He came to Central Pennsylvania and started his company with nothing. He grew his organization to become an outstanding mid-sized firm garnering national recognition. On top of that, he is a committed community leader, philanthropist and volunteer. I couldn’t agree more with the judging panel’s decision to honor Connie with the award,” says David Schankweiler, CEO and publisher of the Central Penn Business Journal.
Connie Siegel opened Conrad Siegel Actuaries in 1963, focusing the business on fee-based services that resulted in good customer service and impartial advice. Under Siegel’s leadership the firm grew to assist over 1,200 clients, including large public companies such as Weis Markets, State Government Agencies such as the Public Employee Retirement Commission down to individuals to whom we provide investment advisory services.
“We grew the firm from myself and a secretary in 1963 to over 100 employees including 30 actuaries. Today, nineteen of the employees are partners in the firm,” said Connie Siegel, Founder of Conrad Siegel Actuaries. “My choice was simple – either offer the most promising people partnership or train them to be competitors. In 49 years, we have never had a partner leave the firm to work elsewhere.”
Siegel will accept his honor during the Business of the Year Awards event on November 1, 2012. In addition, a special publication profiling Siegel and the other program honorees will be distributed at the event and inserted in the Nov. 9 issue of the Central Penn Business Journal.
The 2012 Business of the Year Awards are presented by Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney and are sponsored by M&T Bank; McKonly & Asbury; Capital BlueCross; Comcast Business Class and FGV Media.
