Indianapolis, IN (Vocus) July 7, 2008
Consona ERP Inc., a leading provider of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and services for small and midsize discrete manufacturers, today announced that it has acquired substantially all of the Intuitive-related assets of Automated Design Systems (ADS), a Canada-based provider of software tools, implementation services, integration support and education programs for the worldÂs leading CAD and ERP applications.
The acquisition of the Intuitive-related assets of ADS reinforces Consona ERPÂs aggressive acquisition strategy to acquire manufacturing expertise within the ERP industry, and extends the companyÂs footprint within the Canadian market. The combined companies will look to grow and increase market share as a provider of ERP software and services for Canadian manufacturers.
As part of the acquisition, Consona gains the intellectual property (IP) for, and expertise behind, Intuitive ERPÂs robust CRM and service functionality, therefore making it easier and faster to support, service, maintain and enhance this module moving forward.
ÂThis acquisition is proof positive that Consona ERP is putting significant resources behind the international scale and marketability of Intuitive ERP, said Scott Malia, general manager of Consona ERP. ÂIn addition to the IP for the Intuitive ERP CRM module, Consona ERP will gain skilled professionals who are already intimately familiar with the Intuitive ERP product and the Canadian customer base, and who will supplement the current consulting and customizations teams from day one.Â
According to Malia, the ADS brand and trademark will not become a part of Consona ERP, and ADSÂs CAD business will continue to operate under the ADS name, remaining unaffected by the acquisition. Consona will use the acquired ADS expertise to create a distribution channel for its family of ERP solutions, thereby creating Consona Canada.
Consona Canada will operate from the former ADS Winnipeg location and will be managed by Dmitry Kirshner, former vice president of client services for ADS. All Intuitive ERP sales, service and support personnel will continue in their existing roles, and ConsonaÂs proven model will ensure that the integration is seamless for the companies 75 shared customers.
ÂThis acquisition made a great deal of sense for both companies, said Malia. ÂConsona Canada now has a large pool of resources to apply to growing our presence in the region, including by expanding the operation to support other Consona ERP software solutions.Â
Mehul Dave, vice president of international operations for Consona ERP, agreed. ÂCollectively, Consona ERP has well over 200 Canada-based customers. Going forward, weÂll be evaluating serving and supporting these customers from Consona Canada, in addition to using this distribution channel to disseminate our entire family of Consona ERP software and services. Another opportunity lies in potentially using Consona Canada to develop region-specific ERP functionality for our product lines.Â
ÂWe are very pleased about this acquisition, said Kirshner, who has been promoted to managing director of Consona Canada. ÂAs Consona Canada, we are still the same great vendor that our customers have come to depend on; weÂve just gained strength through the financial stability, best practices, and expertise of a growing, private-equity funded software company to support growth investments. With these resources behind us, along with the core regional group from ADS, weÂll have even more to offer our current and future customers.Â
The specific terms of the agreement were not released.
