Grandview, MO (PRWEB) June 05, 2013
Constructive Playthings - On Tuesday, May 22nd Constructive Playthings received a call from Children’s Disaster Services to send out our carefully planned “Kit of Comfort” to disaster zone shelters with families and children. Volunteers from Children’s Disaster Services (CDS) arrive to a disaster location with a “Kit of Comfort” containing carefully selected toys that promote imaginative play. Volunteers give children individualized attention and encourage them to express themselves, thereby starting the healing process.
Constructive Playthings is proud of our work to support the disaster recovery efforts with Children’s Disaster Services. This relationship began when we worked together to support families and children in need during and after the Joplin tornado disaster two years ago.
The “Kit of Comfort” was uniquely designed in partnership with Constructive Playthings educational specialists as well as the CDS team. The kits are ready to be sent into a disaster zone on a moment’s notice. Within hours of the call from CDS, the “Kit of Comfort” was on its way to Moore, Oklahoma.
