The Institute of Management Consultants (IMC) announces its 32nd annual conference for consultants will take place in Reno, Nevada, on October 24-27, 2009. Because of the economic recession, IMC expects an increase in the number of new consultants at the conference this year. Three different conference program tracks accommodate consultants who are launching a new practice, those who are building an existing practice, as well as senior consultants who wish to refine their established consulting practice.

This down economy is a critical time for consultants to come together, learn new skills, and network with each other. With so many people getting laid off from work, we're expecting to see increased attendance at Confab 2009.

The Institute of Management Consultants (IMC) announces that the 32nd annual Confab conference, Mastering the Art of Consulting: Thriving in Turbulent Times, takes place on October 24-27, 2009, in Reno, Nevada at the Silver Legacy Resort Casino and features keynote speaker and consultant Alan Weiss, author of the best-seller, Million Dollar Consulting (McGraw-Hill).

According to Confab chair Norman Eckstein, "This down economy is a critical time for consultants to come together, learn new skills, and network with each other. With so many people getting laid off from work, we're expecting to see increased attendance at Confab 2009." Eckstein went on to say that "the Confab conference is the only one in the world geared to providing practical advice for consultants by consultants. Other consulting conferences offer more theoretical and academic content."

The annual Confab conference is attended by individual consultants, consultants from small to mid-size firms, internal consultants, executive coaches and mentors, consultants with specialties such as IT, HR, marketing and finance, and prospective and new consultants. Confab breakout sessions are organized in three tracks designed to help consultants learn how to launch, build or refine their consulting practice. Prior to the conference, Confab will offer an optional workshop called 'Social Media: Grow Your Business and Make Money,' presented by several experts on social networking tools such as blogs, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter.
