Jennifer Filla - Colorado Attorney at Consumer Attorney Services

Consumer Attorney Services added attorney Jennifer Filla to their national foreclosure defense team in May to help Colorado homeowners avoid foreclosure after U.S District Judge William Martinez questioned the constitutionality of a Colorado foreclosure law.

According to a May 2013 Denver Post article, "A federal judge on Monday made the rare move to stop the foreclosure auction of an Aurora woman's house in a case that squarely takes on the constitutionality of Colorado's foreclosure laws."

The article goes on to describe the foreclosure law in question by saying, "Lawyers could now sign a document, called a statement of qualified holder, that was their guarantee — without the need to provide proof — that their bank client had the right to foreclose."

To help Colorado homeowners who may be adversely affected by this law, Consumer Attorney Services added Colorado attorney Jennifer Filla to their national foreclosure defense team in May. Filla reviewed foreclosure files for compliance with federal law while working as a bankruptcy analyst for Promonotory Financial Group, LLC and also brings over 10 years working experience as legal editor for LexisNexis to the Consumer Attorney Services team.

Filla is a freelance attorney for JCF Legal Services, LLC and works on cases in foreclosure defense, debt settlement, construction and civil litigation. She previously worked as an associate attorney for Wolf, Slatkin & Madison, PC.

Filla attended the Wasburn University School of Law where she received her Juris Doctorate in 2000. Prior to law school, she went to the University of Kansas and received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology.

She is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the El Paso County Bar Association and the Construction Law section of the Colorado Bar Association.

Filla contributes to her local community by volunteering in her two daughters’ classes. She also enjoys taking her daughters to their soccer tournaments and piano recitals.

Consumer Attorney Services trusts Filla with the task of helping more Colorado homeowners avoid foreclosure. Consumer Attorney Services is a full service consumer advocacy law firm headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, helping families with but not limited to foreclosure defense, debt settlement and bankruptcy.
