Lisa Lett Voorhis joined Consumer Attorney Services’ national foreclosure defense team in April to help more New Mexico homeowners avoid home repossession when dealing with foreclosure. Voorhis’ 25 years of experience as an attorney working on cases in foreclosure defense, debt settlement, land rights, and information technology makes her a valuable asset to Consumer Attorney Services’ team.
According to Voorhis’ profile on the Millennium Law Center website, she worked for over ten years as Assistant General Counsel for a major utility company and also worked as “in-house counsel for a health care system.” She also worked for a period of time in her own practice, Lisa Lett Vorhis, Attorney At Law, PLLC in Oklahoma.
Voorhis graduated from the University of Michigan and later attended the University of Michigan Law School where she received her Juris Doctorate. She has been licensed to practice law in eight states and holds current active licenses to practice law in New Mexico, Oklahoma and Colorado.
Consumer Attorney Services tasked Voorhis with helping New Mexico homeowners to address a recent rise in home repossessions in the month of March.
An April 2013 article on the ABQ Journal’s website, titled “N.M. Home Repose Leap Higher in March,” described the problem for New Mexico homeowners, “Lenders took back 301 homes in foreclosure last month, by far the highest number of repossessions statewide since September 2011. For comparison, only 118 homes were repossessed statewide in the preceding February and 128 homes were repossessed in March 2012....”
Consumer Attorney Services is a full service consumer advocacy law firm headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, helping families with foreclosure defense, debt settlement, bankruptcy law and more. Consumer Attorney Services hopes their addition of attorney Lisa Lett Voorhis can help more homeowners in New Mexico to fight foreclosure and avoid home repossession.
