Consumer Attorney Services plans to help more New Mexico homeowners avoid foreclosure with the addition of attorney Kristin Groman to its national foreclosure defense team in June. According to a recent article by reporter Damon Scott with Albuquerque Business First, “The report [RealtyTrac’s U.S. Foreclosure Market Report] said foreclosure activity in New Mexico was up 33 percent compared to April ... The state maintains the highest foreclosure rate in the region.”

In response to the recent 33% increase in foreclosure activity in New Mexico, Consumer Attorney Services added Groman to its national team of foreclosure defense attorneys in hopes of providing more distressed NM homeowners access to the valuable legal resources they need to avoid foreclosure.

Groman developed a keen understanding of civil litigation after trying cases to judges and juries on both the state and federal level.

Her primary practice areas include foreclosure defense, debt settlement, business and contract disputes, construction contracts and wrongful death. Groman also worked as a clerk at the California Supreme Court.

She attended law school at the University of California’s Hastings College of the Law where she graduated with a Juris Doctor in 1993. She received a bachelor’s degree in political science from San Francisco State University. She also earned a recent mediation certification from University of New Mexico in 2011.

Groman enjoys sharing her legal expertise with her local community by volunteering as a mediator for the Metropolitan Court in Albuquerque.
