Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) February 28, 2012
National Craft Month was created nearly two decades ago by the Craft and Hobby Association to spotlight the fact that 56% of US homes participate in crafting. Since its inception in 1994, crafters have really embraced the month as a chance to try new crafts, share their crafting with others, and acknowledge the significance that crafting has in their lives.
According to Anne Polkinghorn, product manager of ConsumerCrafts, “We have seen a surge of new crafters thanks to an uptick in crafting blogs and sites like Pinterest that crafters can use to share ideas and look for inspiration. March has become an ideal time to try a new craft or hobby, thanks to the projects and sales that National Craft Month has helped support,” she added.
ConsumerCrafts has added 1500 new products to their bridal, scrapbooking, jewelry-making and basics sections in an effort to keep crafters well supplied with the craft supplies they need. National Craft Month promotions on ConsumerCrafts.com will include:
- Feeling Lucky weekend where random orders will receive gift certificates to the site
- A once a year Friends and Family Exclusive Sale for those on the ConsumerCrafts mailing list
- Shipping discounts, craft grab bags and other shopping incentives.
ConsumerCrafts will also host a month long “linky party” on their crafting blog, Crafts Unleashed, where participants can link up their own projects to be entered to win a ConsumerCrafts shopping spree.
