Vancouver, Canada (Vocus) February 3, 2010
Contac announced its further expansion into print with the acquisition of certain printing assets from Forum Productions Inc. (ÂForumÂ), a commercial printer located in Delta, B.C.
The transaction has resulted in Contac acquiring a wide range of print equipment and technology including a six-colour, 40Â sheetfed press; a four-colour UV hybrid, 29Â sheetfed press; a die-cutter/foiler; and an assortment of other assets totalling 39 pieces to complement ContacÂs existing print infrastructure.
With the added capacity and technology, ContacÂs Print Division is now one of the leading print facilities in Canada. The acquisition of these printing assets allows Contac to significantly increase daily print output to more than 1.6 million sheets per 8-hour shift on offset presses. ContacÂs client base across North America, in both the travel industry and other industries, can take advantage of the additional digital and offset print production capacity, with faster output and greater efficiencies.
ÂWith a powerful and innovative print production facility, Contac has both the equipment and experience necessary to handle complex print projects, noted Garry Gunter, ContacÂs General Manager of Print Operations. ÂContac continually invests in new equipment and technology to ensure we remain industry leaders. The acquisition of ForumÂs printing equipment was exactly in line with our growth goals for 2010.Â
ForumÂs current clients will be transitioned to Contac including Canada Post, the City of Vancouver, Tourism Richmond, Tourism Vancouver Island, Boston Pizza, Direct Buy, Canadian Cancer Society, Frequency Magazine, Vancouver Community College and hundreds more.
ÂThe commencement of 2010 also marks a period of remarkable growth for Contac, said Riaz Pisani, President and CEO of Contac. ÂWith our increased volumes generated by the Contac Procurement Platforms, eConcierge Program, and our expanding client base, the acquisition of additional print machinery operated by an experienced staff could not have come at a better time.Â
