The Chefs Toolbox raised the money by organising a cooking show that included expert cooking demonstrations, fun games and prizes, goodie bags and food sampling. Ten dollars from each ticket and 10 percent of all event sales were donated to the cause. The cooking show, held at Geelong West Town Hall on 14th November, raised over $5,000, while David Mills, Director of The Chefs Toolbox, donated almost $1,000 on top of this for a grand total of $6,000.

Bridget O'Brien, Appeals Co-ordinator (Public Relations) at Geelong Hospital, was thrilled to accept the cheque. "This is an absolutely fabulous Christmas present for the hospital and the kids who need to use our facilities," she said.

Emma Lambert and Marlene Kennedy decided to organise the charity cooking show after hearing about the shortage of equipment at Geelong Hospital. They called in reinforcements from The Chefs Toolbox's head office in Sydney, lined up the Cooking Guru to do the cooking demonstrations, and geared up to raise funds to purchase new machines for the ward.

Christine Chandler, cookbook author and Chefs Toolbox Cooking Guru, travelled from Sydney to teach the people of Geelong some winning Christmas recipes. Upon arrival each guest was given a complimentary glass of bubbly and a goodie bag with kitchen treats from The Chefs Toolbox. The cooking demonstrations showed guests how to cook tasty treats for the festive season such as Grilled Salmon Fillet with Honey and Chilli, Christmas Mince Pies and Steamed Christmas Puddings. During the night guests sampled the recipes cooked up on stage.

"This was a great cause and it was fantastic to see the people of Geelong get behind it," said Emma Lambert. "It was a great chance to spice up Christmas lunch as well as doing something nice for the kids who will spend Christmas in Geelong Hospital."
