Cookology, recreational culinary school, Great Country Farms and Bluemont Vineyards are partnering for a summer of culinary education for adults and children. Participants will pick their own produce, learn how to cook with it on the farm.

At Great Country Farm, we strive to be good stewards of the land and provide sustainably grown produce, and to connect families with their food. Cookology complements us by teaching people how to make delicious homemade meals using our CSA produce boxes.

It’s springtime on the farm in Loudoun County, Virginia. Take a tractor ride to pick row after row of vegetables and then learn how to make unique meals right on the farm in a teaching kitchen set up by Northern Virginia's best recreational cooking school, Cookology. All summer long join Cookology, and its chefs at Great Country Farms. Great Country Farm’s amazing produce is available for picking in large, open air fields. Inside the barn or climate controlled Roosteraurant, Cookology's Chef Brad Spates will hold a cooking class using freshing picked fruit and veggies in delicious homemade dishes. Then sit side by side with others who have been on this afternoon farm journey, and eat under the stars at a communal table with the glow of lighted candles, and a million stars above.

Cookology will also be hosting wine dinners at Bluemont Vineyard either outside on a rustic mountain plateau, or on the patio of the tasting room overlooking the vineyard below. Laid back, accessible and easy going Cookology's chefs are offering their famous Date Night cooking classes ($99-$125), wine dinners with winemakers and sommeliers ($99-$125), kid’s cooking classes and camps, and several Saturday cooking demonstrations throughout the summer and into November.

Kate Zurschmeide of Great Country Farms says, "We strive to be good stewards of the land and provide sustainably grown produce, and to connect families with their food. Cookology complements us by teaching people how to make delicious homemade meals using our CSA produce boxes."

Also, Cookology will be a CSA pick up every week. Great Country Farm offers 20 weeks of CSA fruit and vegetables from June 4th- Oct. 21st, 2012, available for pick up at the Country Store or to be delivered to your door or group site, like Cookology, depending on membership selection.
