"Powered By Spike" Game Hitting App Stores 90 Days After Being A Notebook Hole Doodle
Powered By Spike Developer, Albert Ransom of Runsome Apps explains:
"While working on updates for another game, I was just doodling and drew a box around the center hole of a notebook I was using to take notes. I then drew some spikes on top, eyes and "Spike" was born. I wasn't thinking about what I was doing or even trying to come up with a game idea at the time. However, I've been wanting to make a game my 5 year old would enjoy playing, but also keep it challenging enough and fun for us grown ups too. A spark went off, and I saw something in that drawing that made me want to commit the following months to bringing Spike to life. 90 days after drawing that mindless doodle, it's a full fledged game available for the world to download and enjoy. It's pretty cool you can do that today."
Powered By Spike is an endless runner style action game where the main character, "Spike" is a hot new toy roaming the toy store causing havoc. What makes Spike special is his array of widgets that help propel him through the toy store. These widgets attach through Spike's nose and offer everything from an Invincibility Tank to a Ball Shooter used for destroying toy obstacles. Spike can jump on whoopee cushions that make noise, and Jack In Boxes to jump higher. During each game, Spike can accumulate batteries for revives, and golden jacks to purchase special characters and widget power ups.
The game is initially being released with 30 missions, 7 additional characters to unlock, and 6 widgets. Future updates will follow based on demand and user feedback.
Android (Available Now on Google Play)
iOS (Submitted, Waiting on App Store Approval)
Powered By Spike is free, it's ad based and offers in app purchases to buy more jacks which are for special characters and widget power ups, purchasing jacks are not required to unlock the full potential of the game.
