Cooper-Standard Automotive Chooses Esker Faxing Solution as Part of Global SAP Rollout

Automotive supplier cites implementation flexibility, notification features and service option as deciding factors

Esker, the leader in document process automation solutions, today at Logistics and Supply Chain Management 2010 announced that Cooper-Standard Automotive Inc., a leading global supplier of systems and components for the automotive industry, has chosen Esker DeliveryWare to automate fax delivery of purchase orders, shipping notices and other documents. Esker is exhibiting at booth #600 during the conference.

Cooper-Standard selected Esker DeliveryWare in conjunction with its SAP implementation across Europe and the United States to standardize enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Following the initial rollout to four facilities in France, the Cooper-Standard development team took note of the amount of manual faxing that the company was doing to satisfy European Union directives requiring certain business documents to be delivered via fax.

“We look to automate business processes as much as possible,” said Brandan Haines, Senior System Administrator at Cooper-Standard. “We wanted to eliminate the manual steps of people printing documents and then faxing them. Our primary focus was to provide users with a way to send a fax directly from SAP, know that it was sent successfully and have the ability recover if transmission fails.”

After narrowing down from several potential solution providers to Esker and one other vendor, Cooper-Standard chose Esker. “We had a very positive reference call with an Esker customer,” said Haines. “And we liked the fact that we could start with the SAP connector and easily add capabilities like desktop faxing later, as needed, with the Esker solution. We also liked the confirmation and rejection status messages that Esker can configure, and having the hybrid service option to leverage Esker fax infrastructure for disaster recovery and high availability.” Implementation of Esker DeliveryWare began less than two weeks after Cooper-Standard signed with Esker, and is on track to be completed on target by end of Q1 2010.
