With Cooper PT Mentorship, personal trainers will have the best, research-based knowledge and skills to help clients achieve their goals and better their health.
Dallas, TX (Vocus/PRWEB) February 07, 2011
Cooper Fitness Center announced the launch of CooperPT Mentorship, a new program designed for working professional fitness trainers to take traditional classroom education and one-on-one training to the next level.
“Personal trainers have the power to impact and improve the lives of countless people,” says Kenneth H. Cooper, MD, MPH, founder and chairman of Cooper Aerobics. “With Cooper PT Mentorship, personal trainers will have the best, research-based knowledge and skills to help clients achieve their goals and better their health.”
Built on extensive scientific research and more than 20 years of trainer-client experience, Cooper PT Mentorship offers—for the first time—a one-of-a-kind opportunity for trainers around the world to learn the proprietary Cooper Training System philosophy. CooperPT is offered in Dallas and Curitiba, Brazil, where “Cooper” was adopted as the Portuguese translation for “jogging” since the late ‘60s when the Brazilian military adopted the Cooper Test to measure fitness levels. It became popularized in 1970 after Dr. Cooper helped the Brazilian soccer team win the World Cup using the aerobics training program.
“Cooper PT Mentorship is based on science and experimenting with numerous training methodologies,” explains Carla Sottovia, PhD, director of fitness and personal training education, and CooperPT Mentorship developer and director for Cooper Fitness Center in Dallas. “We believe we have created the best advanced training model the industry has to offer. Whether your goal is to learn a new system or enhance your existing methodology, CooperPT is for you.”
Cooper PT Mentorship is designed for personal trainers who have at least one national certification and experience working one-on-one with clients. Taught by senior Cooper Fitness Center personal trainers, the four-and-a-half day program includes classroom education, hands-on labs, live case studies, personal business development coaching, continuing education credits, and two nationally recognized certificates of advance qualification: Functional Movement Screen and Level I Vibration Training.
“Continuing education is the cornerstone of any good personal training program and is a core value at Cooper Fitness Center. It’s exciting to share our wealth of experience and tried-and-true Cooper philosophies to other professional fitness trainers around the world,” says Brad Wilkins, vice president and general manager of Cooper Fitness Center, Dallas.
The cost for CooperPT Mentorship is $2,000, or $2,500 including hotel accommodations and healthy meals. Payment installments are available. This year’s program dates in Dallas are April 4-8, June 20-24, August 22-26, and October 31-November 4; and in Curitiba, Brazil are May 19-22 and September 29-October 2.
