Tampa, Florida (PRWEB) August 16, 2012
On August 15, 2012, eLogic Learning welcomed Buddy, the Mascot of Buddy Cruise, to eLogic Learning’s corporate headquarters. Buddy Cruise, a Down Syndrome Awareness Group is a 501c3 non-profit founded in 2008 by two siblings in honor of their brother who has Down syndrome.
The purpose of Buddy Cruise is to provide educational resources and promote public awareness of Down Syndrome by taking part in and conducting special events, particularly conferences at sea.
These conferences are a forum for prominent educational speakers to address a wide range of disability related topics. The events are not only supportive of families touched by Down Syndrome but other disabilities as well. Buddy Cruise sets sail each October, National Down Syndrome Awareness Month, to honor those who are touched by Down Syndrome.
eLogic Learning has a policy of giving to charity for every sale that eLogic Learning produces. Buddy Cruise has been a recipient of eLogic’s charitable contributions on many occasions including eLogic’s most recent donation to charity.
The staff at eLogic Learning headquarters were excited to meet the Buddy Cruise mascot and many pictures were taken. Said Bill Snowden, Chief Technical Officer of eLogic Learning, “I am proud to be a part of an organization that gives back to the community. Meeting Buddy the Mascot really brought home to me the special needs of persons with Down Syndrome or other disabilities and how it affects their families.”
The next Buddy Cruise is scheduled for October 21 - 28, 2012, visiting the ports of Coco Cay, St. Thomas and St. Maarten onboard the Freedom of the Seas. To learn more about or to donate to Buddy Cruise, please visit http://www.buddycruise.org.
