They [Treasury Department] will have a wider range of legal and technical tools that will help with the identification and apprehension of fake products and those who deal with them.
San Jose, Costa Rica (PRWEB) June 05, 2013
This past April, renowned Costa Rica attorneys AG Abogados along with Mario Loaiza & Associates, organized a workshop titled “Intellectual Property in Costa Rica” which was directed towards educating the fiscal police agents of the Treasury Department. The event took place at the police auditorium in downtown San Jose.
The objective of the workshop was to train the attendees on topics such as intellectual property legislation and the handling of evidence for violations of this law in Costa Rica.
Additionally another workshop was staged on how to identify fake products for brands such as Nike, Levi Strauss & Co., Blackberry, Converse, Casio, MONSTER, among others.
The workshop educators were Mr. Mario Loaiza, an expert in fake product recognition, attorney Randall Leitón Roque from the Legal and Technical Division of the Fiscal Police and Costa Rica lawyer Doris Rodriguez, a partner at the AG Abogados legal firm.
For attorney Doris Rodríguez, the experience, “will allow the Fiscal Police agents to perform in a more effective and opportune manner, as from now on they will have a wider range of legal and technical tools that will help with the identification and apprehension of fake products and those who deal with them.”
As leaders in intellectual property law, Costa Rica attorneys from renowned legal firm AG Abogados continue to do their part in educating key players in the ongoing defense of international intellectual property rights in Costa Rica.
