As infrastructure construction continues, Hacienda Matapalo – the best-selling Costa Rica Real Estate project on the country’s South Pacific Coast – today announced plans to build its first model home.
“This is an important step for us,” said Edwin Acosta, Vice President of Costa Rica Operations for Hacienda Matapalo. “Every time we make considerable progress, it brings us one step closer to the day when our owners can begin occupying their new homes. While this sounds like pretty standard fare, we cannot lose sight that this step is pretty significant.”
In December 2010 one of the biggest steps for Hacienda Matapalo took place as infrastructure construction kicked into high gear on the 665 acre master planned gated community. Since that time construction crews have been turning the giant farm with spectacular ocean, mountain and rainforest views, into what has been considered by many to be the most desirable development in the region.
“As vital and important as roads, electrical conduits, water and sewage lines are to a project – and we certainly do not want to minimize how essential those items are to Hacienda Matapalo – the fact that we will soon begin construction on a model home makes a big statement,” Acosta said. “It lets everyone know that it is now just a matter of time before people start moving into their new homes.”
The first model home to be constructed at Hacienda Matapalo will be a 3-bedroom 3.5-bath Polynesian-inspired 3,023 square foot design called The Bali.
“With nearly all the home sites sold out we elected to build our most popular model,” said Michael Starkey, Vice President of Sales and Investments at Hacienda Matapalo, “we decided to strategically put it at the heart of the property on a gorgeous tropical Rainforest location.” Starkey said the single-story, single-family home, will include a private swimming pool with a large patio area /outdoor living space “typical of all our home designs.”
With construction plans nearly complete and all the permits in the process pipeline, construction on the model home is slated to start in early August.
“It’s the perfect model for us to build first,” Acosta said, explaining that the home’s design is flawlessly suited for Costa Rica’s climate. “The design itself has a charm and warmth that mirrors the environment surrounding it… an inviting quality that other developments are simply not able to provide, all of which ties into our strong commitment to the environment by building green.”
In May Hacienda Matapalo received a declaration from the Aguirre County Municipal Council that recognized the project for being of “Municipal Interest” due to its community involvement, including their commitment to protecting the environment. And prior to that in February, Carlos Ricardo Benavides Jimenez, Costa Rica’s Minister of Tourism, visited Hacienda Matapalo and said the project was “significant” to the area’s economic growth.
