The Courtyard Port of Spain plans to celebrate its partnership with a local tourism institute by offering a limited-time deal that supports the city and saves guests money.

The hotel in Port of Spain recently formalized an arrangement that recognizes the Trinidad and Tobago Hospitality and Tourism Institute as the official provider of future personnel for the Trinidad hotel. Nicol Khelawan, general manager of Courtyard Port of Spain, and Dr. Patricia Butcher, executive director of TTHTI, met on April 25, 2013, to finalize the details of the partnership, which will positively impact the institute’s internship program. At the end of their studies, students of the institute are attached to premier facilities locally, regionally and internationally so that they can gain practical experience.

This alliance is yet another opportunity for TTHTI to achieve its vision of becoming a “world-class hospitality and tourism institution delivering educational and training programs that meet the needs of a global marketplace,” Butcher said.

Visitors to the Port of Spain hotel will benefit because “the well-trained students from the institute will deliver top-notch customer service with the professionalism and high standards our hotel is known for,” Khelawan said.

To honor the new agreement, the Trinidad and Tobago hotel’s Port of Spain Shopping Spree Package offers deluxe accommodations from $179 to $199 per night plus a number of perks that will have guests shopping ‘til they drop. The deal includes complimentary breakfast for two at The Centro to get shopaholics off to a hearty start as well as transportation to and from The Falls at West Mall.

Guests will find plenty of clothing, electronics, gift, jewelry and shoe stores along with fast-food and sit-down restaurants at the popular shopping center. When they return from a day of bargain-hunting, they will find comfortable, spacious accommodations waiting. The Trinidad hotel’s 116 guest rooms on four floors are well-equipped with high-speed Internet access, large work desks with ergonomic chairs, safes, irons and ironing boards, mini-refrigerators and coffeemakers. Travelers will sleep soundly on one king or two queen beds topped with custom comforters, cotton-rich linens and plenty of down and feather pillows.

The Centro summons early risers who are ready to hit the stores with its healthy, freshly prepared breakfast dishes that include French toast and fruits in a casual bistro-style setting.

Load up your shopping bags and take advantage of the Port of Spain Shopping Spree Package by using promotional code SHO when booking online or by calling 1-800-228-9290. The deal is good through June 10, 2013.
