Downtown Chicago IL Hotel Organizes Donation to Local Women's Organization, WINGS

Courtyard Chicago Downtown River North continues charitable giving and community relations mission.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) April 1, 2008 -- The Courtyard Chicago Downtown River North has announced the coordination of a significant donation to the Chicago women's organization WINGS. The downtown Chicago IL hotel is currently undergoing a $9 million renovation and will donate all pre-renovation bedding and linens from the Marriott Courtyard Chicago to WINGS.

WINGS was chosen for the contribution because of the organization's mission to help "homeless and abused women and children by offering integrated services that meet their needs for shelter, education, guidance and support." The bedding and linens will assist the organization in with their residential services, which have provided 32,906 nights of shelter for women and children in the Chicago area. The Courtyard Chicago Downtown River North boasts 337 rooms of downtown Chicago lodging, all of which are currently undergoing renovation and will contribute to the donation.

Thomas Egan, Director of Sales for the downtown Chicago IL hotel, says of the donation, "As Chicago business, we feel it is vitally important to contribute to the local community. In addition to our other community initiatives, the renovation presented clear and unique contribution opportunities."

WINGS provides "safe, secure living environments, through transitional housing and emergency shelter, in residential neighborhoods that allow women to go to school, work, and care for themselves and their children." According to Egan, "We wanted the donation to directly benefit recipients of an organization's services, and by donating the goods from the renovation of our downtown Chicago lodging to WINGS, we are able to do this."

The Courtyard Chicago Downtown River North offers accommodations for both leisure and business travelers. The hotel near the Magnificent Mile will offer fully renovated guest rooms upon completion of the renovation, in addition to its existing Chicago meeting facility and amenities such as the State Street Bread Company.
