The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ AICPA CPA Exam is one of the most difficult professional exams in the U.S. With the monumental 2011 CPA Exam changes looming, the exam is expected to become even more difficult. There are anticipated changes to the CPA Exam Simulations as well as new CPA Exam IRFS (International Financial Reporting Standards) content which will be added to every section of the exam except Business Environment and Concepts (BEC).
The CPA Exam is divided into four sections: Business Environment and Concepts (BEC), Auditing and Attestation (AUD), Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR), and Regulation (REG).
Based on his detailed analysis of the AICPA’s changes, Professor B. Douglas Clinton, wrote new lessons for CPAexcel's CPA Review Course as well as a fascinating four minute video. The video may be viewed below, as well as on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2aYGLxLKS8 and http://www.cpaexcel.com/2011/#dougclinton.
In Dr. Clinton’s video, he compares and contrasts the 2010 and 2011 BEC section of the CPA Exam. In a clear and concise manner, enlivened with humor, Dr. Clinton presents the 2011 topics:
- Risk Management
- Strategy and Risk
- Process Management
- Project Management (Operations Management)
- Strategic Planning.
