CPAmerica International, an association of large independent CPA firms, has named its 2012 board of directors.
Scott T. Wallace, managing director of Arizona-based Wallace, Plese + Dreher, LLP, is the new chair of the board. He succeeds 2011 chair, Steven W. Knebel, leading partner of Maxwell, Locke & Ritter, LLP, in Austin, Texas.
David J. Nissen, leading partner of Mueller & Co. LLP in St. Charles, Ill., has been elected to the vice chair/chair-elect position.
“I know 2012 will be another great year working with each member of the board,” said Alan Deichler, CPAmerica president. “As we begin implementing our strategic plan as decided by the council of members and board, I am confident our board of directors will be a great representation of our membership.”
Among the nine elected board members, returning board members include, Bryan R. Chandler of JamisonMoneyFarmer, PC, in Tuscaloosa, Ala.; Frank P. Discenza of Testone, Marshall & Discenza, LLP, in Syracuse, N.Y.; and Kathy J. Klang of Cummings, Keegan & Co., PLLP, in St. Louis Park, Minn.
Three new board members include Leslie C. Daane of Barnard, Vogler & Co. in Reno, Nev.; Joseph V. Pease of Pease & Associates, Inc., in Cleveland, Ohio; and Michelle L. Siner of Dunbar, Cook & Shepard, P.C. in Indianapolis, Ind.
“I look forward to implementing the association’s strategic plan,” Wallace said. “We have to do it right, so we’ll need to initiate some elements on a limited basis and continue to refine them. It will be a process of continual improvement. I’m eager to get moving to the next step.”
The new board will have its first meeting of the year at CPAmerica’s office on Jan. 11-12 to discuss 2012 initiatives and other long-term goals.
