Chalktrail® was born in 2008 when designer and inventor Scott Baumann came up with the idea as he was watched his kids riding their bikes and playing with sidewalk chalk.
He explained, "It went something like this: On the bike, off the bike, draw with chalk, back on the bike, back off the bike, draw some more. I started wondering why nobody had ever combined the two activities so kids could ride and draw at the same time.”
