Credit Solutions Employees Give Almost A Ton Of Food To North Texas Food Bank, Earning A Day Off For 'Fair Days'

Credit Solutions today presented a $10,000 check to the North Texas Food Bank, and employees collectively donated an additional 2,800 cans, or about 1,800 lbs. of food, during the 5th annual Credit Solutions Fair Days and Food Drive.

Everyone at Credit Solutions has a good time on Fair Days, but what really makes it gratifying is knowing that the State Fair and the North Texas Food Bank work together to help North Texas families in need.

In return for their canned food donations, employees received a paid day off work to attend the State Fair of Texas with their families. Chartered buses carried 1,500 Credit Solutions employees and their guests in five different day-long shifts earlier this month. The Fair ended Oct. 19.

"Fair Days and the Food Drive are among our largest annual employee initiatives – and one of the most enjoyable ways we give back to the DFW community," said Credit Solutions Community Affairs Manager Michelle Granado. "Everyone at Credit Solutions has a good time on Fair Days, but what really makes it gratifying is knowing that the State Fair and the North Texas Food Bank work together to help North Texas families in need."

"Credit Solutions' generosity brings us one step closer to our goal of providing 50 million meals annually by 2011," said Jan Pruitt, President and CEO of NTFB. "On any given day, 1.2 million people living in households in North Central Texas go without food. The Food Banks can't do it alone; they need the public's help."
