The 2013 rankings of U.S. News & World Report’s “America’s Best Colleges” are out, and Creighton has added another honor to its list: It is ranked 16th on the roster of “Best Business Schools for Information Systems.” The ranking highlights the quality of the business degrees at Creighton, including the fully online Master of Science in Information Technology Management.

“Business and technology go hand-in-hand,” says Lei-da Chen, Ph.D., director of the Information Technology Management program. “We’re proud to be recognized for excellence in this area, and even prouder of our students, who go on to achieve great accomplishments and career success through our program.”

U.S. News surveyed 441 master's programs in business accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International. Rankings were based on factors including peer assessments, recruiter assessments, placement success, starting mean salary and bonus.

The rankings from U.S. News help potential students compare institutions at a glance based on indicators such as graduation rates, strength of the faculty, and cost and the availability of financial aid.

The business school ranking is just one of the accolades Creighton has garnered recently. Other top U.S. News rankings include No. 1 Midwest Regional University (for the 10th year in a row); a “Best Value” for giving students the best return on their tuition investment; an “Up and Coming” university for promoting positive innovations in academics, student life, campus or facilities; and recognition for commitment to student success.

These are in addition to notable rankings from other entities in the last few weeks. Last month, the University was cited by Colleges of Distinction as a Catholic College of Distinction for 2012-2013. It was also included on the Princeton Review’s list of the top 377 universities in its 2013 edition of the annual college guide and listed as No. 4 in the nation in Washington Monthly’s 2012 master’s universities rankings.

Creighton is proud to offer graduate degrees online to help adult students continue their professional development through higher education. The online MS in Information Technology Management, housed at the College of Business, offers IT professionals a mix of in-demand technology expertise and business acumen. Students are prepared to take strategic leadership roles as heads of IT teams, departments and organizations.
