Everyone should feel respected, purposeful, and valued at work, and this training video helps organizations achieve this goal.
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) March 22, 2013
Today, CRM Learning, in conjunction with SunShower Learning and Dr. Sondra Thiederman of Cross-Cultural Communications, released a new workplace training video program called Gateways to Inclusion: Turning Tense Moments into Productive Conversations.
Today’s workplace is full of diversity, which is of tremendous benefit to employees and the overall health of the organization. But, because they are diverse, workplaces can also be rife with misunderstandings and conflicts. Common issues include offensive language (intentional or unintentional), false accusations, and a deficit in conflict resolution or interpersonal skills.
Dr. Thiederman explains that, when handled properly, these moments of tension or awkwardness can actually be opportunities for increased understanding and relationship building. She refers to them as “gateway events.”
An excellent resource for interpersonal skills training or diversity training, the video program shows how employees can take four steps to successfully walk through these gateways and come out on the other side with better working relationships, more understanding, and less tension:
1) Identify what you’re feeling.
2) Set a productive goal for the conversation you need to have.
3) Be cautious in assessing the intent, attitude, or motive of the other person.
4) Communicate with respect.
“We really love to provide today’s workers with the training they need to feel great about going to work,” commented CRM Learning President and CEO, Peter Jordan. “Everyone should feel respected, purposeful, and valued at work, and this training video helps organizations achieve this goal.”
The chaptered DVD program includes the 17-minute video, along with 3 extra features (a quiz, FAQs with Sondra, and a Video Case Study). The CD-ROM includes a comprehensive Leader’s Guide and reproducible Participant Handouts. The program can also be purchased for online delivery.
