Pontefract Kicks Off 2013 Festival Season With Pigeon Detectives and The Enemy

Start your summer in style with great music in terrific surroundings on Saturday June 1st at the Crooked Ways Festival. Now in its second year and with strong advance tickets sales the festival is expecting a capacity crowd through its gates at Pontefract Park West Yorkshire in the shadow of the towns famous race course with local train and bus links and adjacent the M62 motorway network providing easy access.

The festival curates a line-up which includes internationally acclaimed artists, legends of the music industry, the best in up and coming talent whilst giving local artists the chance to perform in front of thousands of people.

As well as the music mix, Crooked Ways will also include performers of all kinds, stalls selling their unique wares as well as some pretty cool attractions for people of all ages.

Named in homage to the 1913 book by local author J.S. Fletcher, The Town of Crooked Ways, which satirises early 20th Century life in Pontefract Crooked Ways is an independent music festival bringing together a diverse range of artists, performers and attractions all within the scenic setting of Pontefract Park in West Yorkshire.

The festival curates a line-up which includes internationally acclaimed artists, legends of the music industry, the best in up and coming talent whilst giving local artists the chance to perform in front of thousands of people.

Never mind the music, Crooked Ways will also include performers of all kinds, stalls selling their unique wares as well as some pretty cool attractions for people of all ages.

Our inaugural festival, held in May 2012, featured Razorlight, Reverend & the Makers, The Sunshine Underground, The Whip, King Charles, Hyde & Beast, Chris Helme and many more.
