Teams competing at this year’s World Junior Hockey Championships teams are enjoying the convenience and security of Canada’s favourite portable storage containers. Earlier this week, Cubeit Moving and Storage delivered 11 portable storage containers to venues in Calgary. Each team in the tournament, along with the organizers, have been assigned a container. Made of steel and fiberglass, with sturdy roll-up doors, Cubeit containers are fully lockable and transportable.

“The containers are perfect,” says Brodie O’Keefe, manager of operations for the World Junior Hockey Championships. “We parked them indoors at Canada Olympic Park and at the Saddledome, where teams can easily store and retrieve their equipment.”

The tournament, operated by Hockey Canada, represents a significant logistical challenge. More than 250 players, coaches and team officials from North America and Europe are in Alberta for up to two weeks of games and practices. Most will play a series of exhibition games in venues across the province; all tournament games are in Calgary and Edmonton. The Championships run from Boxing Day through January 5th, 2012.

“We’re thrilled to be a part of this great Canadian tradition,” says Cubeit President Shannon Bisset. “Hockey is certainly a big part of my family’s life, so it’s a natural fit for us.”

Cubeit is also a proud supporter of minor hockey and has partnered with the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) on a special outreach program. The program offsets the cost of minor hockey for families of limited means. Every time an OMHA family rents a container, Cubeit will donate $25 to the outreach program.
