Sonoma, CA (Vocus/PRWEB) April 04, 2011
Ramekins Culinary School, Event Center and Inn will launch their first Culinary Camp this summer. The intensive 4-day camp, limited to only ten students, will include instruction on advanced culinary techniques featuring locally sourced ingredients. Guest chefs, renowned for their culinary passion and mastery, will cover subjects as diverse as French sauces, cheese making, bread baking, meat preparation, chocolate and a variety of cooking methods, both traditional and modernist.
Participants will also enjoy trips to local farms, where they will be able to hand-select local produce in order to better understand sustainability and seasonality. Participating local wineries, including Hanzell, Cline and Jacuzzi Family Vineyards will host one-of-a-kind private tours, and, on some occasions, dinners in the library. A special dinner at The French Laundry will follow a visit to Opus One, where participants will enjoy a private tasting in their staggeringly beautiful barrel Chai.
After four days of cheese making, brick pizza oven adventures with locally foraged gourmet mushrooms, chocolate truffles, intensive courses in knife skills, an oyster extravaganza, among other adventures, the culinary camp participants will enjoy dinner in the private Kenwood Ranch residence of Ramekins owners, Darius and Sarah Anderson. Scribe wines will be poured and discussed by Scribe owner, Andrew Mariani. Following dinner, guests will be able to view and tour the Andersons’ private collection of Jack London memorabilia; the largest private collection of its kind.
WINE COUNTRY CUISINE: June 27th - July 1st
THE WINE HARVEST: October 17th - 21st
