cumulusIQ: Talent Arbitrage as The Next Differentiator

In response to the ongoing strategy of Systems Integrators (SIs) like IBM to adopt offshore methodologies for service delivery, Knowledge as a Service; (KaaS) company cumulusIQ (previously SpinAct) has launched a survey to ask ERP adopters about how service delivery methodologies contribute to their ERP success--or failure.

Bethlehem, PA (PRWEB) April 23, 2009 -- In response to the ongoing strategy of Systems Integrators (SIs) like IBM to adopt offshore methodologies for service delivery, Knowledge as a Service℠ (KaaS) company cumulusIQ (previously SpinAct) has launched a Survey and a Poll to ask ERP adopters about how service delivery methodologies contribute to their ERP success--or failure.

The survey asks respondents to weight the relative importance of:
Implementation Methodology vs. Implementation Knowledge: Is a process template for ERP implementation or upgrade more important to project success than the knowledge of individual consultants, for example in responding to unforeseen events or custom needs?

Lead Partner vs. Specialists: To the extent that ERP adopters are familiar with their SI teams and processes, is the management function of the lead SI more important to project success than the role of subcontractors who address specific needs? As a follow-up question, are ERP adopters aware of how SIs subcontract talent to get the job done?

Project Markup vs. Project Risk: To what extent are ERP adopters willing to pay premium prices to SIs on the assumption that an SI reduces the risks of project failure?

How important have the following classes of service providers been to your ERP project success?

  • SIs
  • BPOs
  • Internal employee teams
  • Boutique consultants
How much do you care about the specific location of service delivery?

The purpose of this survey is to start a long-delayed public conversation about how, and where, such factors as Talent Arbitrage, Project Methodology, and Risk Management versus overpricing inform ERP adopters' decisions to work with different kinds of companies. The survey results will help to explain the value proposition of SIs in an environment of falling budgets, widespread ERP failure, and the flattening of the knowledge marketplace.
