Tourists' Travel Money Goes Further in Budapest
Sun lovers may start looking to Eastern European countries for cheap holidays while exchange rate favours euro over sterling.
London, UK (PRWEB) May 28, 2009 -- Even with the current foreign currency exchange favouring the euro against the pound, Spain, Italy and France remain the UK's favourite holiday destinations. It seems that in light of the current economic downturn, UK tourists are seeking warmer climates to ease their woes.
However, tourists need not suffer the wrath of the current exchange rate between sterling and euro in order to enjoy the sun. Recent research issued by the Post Office has revealed that holiday makers can make their travel money go a lot further in countries like Hungary, Poland and Czech Republic as they are all outside the eurozone and the exchange rate is still good.
In Budapest, where temperatures can reach a sweltering 38 Celsius, visitors can quench their thirst with a bottle of water for only 33 pence of their travel money. Should they fancy something a little stronger, a bottle of lager will only cost them £1.67 of their travel money.
Andrew Spice of Post Office Travel Services points out: "Capitals like Budapest and Warsaw are extremely cheap places to visit at the moment and have attractions to rival those of the traditional city break favourites."
