When renovating a home, the contractors should be skilled and able to create any look and feel the homeowner wants.

Toronto, Canada (PRWEB) May 28, 2014

Centura Tile (http://www.Centura.ca), North America’s premier distributor of both residential and commercial floor and wall fashions, is releasing its opinion on the current home design trend of using large and curvy/uniquely shaped tiles, as well as other popular trends for 2014.

“Every home is different and should be treated differently,” says Ross Keltie, vice president of sales and marketing at Centura Tile. “Some trends do come to the forefront, however, and are in line with current home design styles and techniques.”

Keltie explains that the use of large-format tiles is one of the trendy floor tile options that homeowners are going with because using large-format floor tiles, such as 30-inch tile, is actually a great new look. This appearance can also be spiced up further by including some different shapes; hexagons, octagons, or any other shape that’s not rectangular or square is a great idea. This offers fresh vantage points and a unique feel to the room being designed, according to Keltie.

“Mismatched tiles are another trend that seems to be getting more popular, as they give off an eclectic feel and can be applied to both floor tiles and the wall,” Keltie adds. “Patterned tiles have also remained popular this year; they create a vintage feel to the room and are also a great way to implement personality into a design.”

“When renovating a home, the contractors should be skilled and able to create any look and feel the homeowner wants,” he concludes. “A lot of time and effort goes into making a home look just right, so it’s important to hire the right group of installers.”
