Currituck Plans Independence Day Celebration

Currituck County will host the 18th annual Independence Day Celebration on Sunday, July 4 in Currituck Heritage Park, Corolla. This special event will be highlighted by a fireworks show beginning at approximately 9 p.m.

Currituck County will host the 18th annual Independence Day Celebration on Sunday, July 4 in Currituck Heritage Park, Corolla. This special event will be highlighted by a fireworks show beginning at approximately 9 p.m.

The celebration officially begins at 6 p.m., with food, vendors and various children’s activities. A local musician, Dr. Tom Vinick, and his band will take the stage for live music at 7 p.m. In addition, the Whalehead Club and nearby Currituck Beach Lighthouse will be open for tours throughout the day.

Special notes regarding the Independence Day Celebration:

  • No alcohol is permitted within Currituck Heritage Park;
  • The boat ramp at the Whalehead Club will be closed for the entire day on July 4;
  • No on-street parking will be available along N.C. 12. Heritage Park has limited on-site parking.
  • Visitors in Corolla can tune in to Currituck’s new AM 1610 public radio station for updates and information.
