Crooked Brook Prints Custom T- Shirts for Chef Waldy Malouf’s Newest Restaurant 'High Heat' in NYC

Chef Waldy Malouf, Co-Owner/Chef of Beacon in New York City reaches out to Crooked Brook to print the t-shirts for his newest restaurant called “High Heat”. Malouf, a 1975 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, has over 30 years experience in developing and managing successful food and beverage operations.

Crooked Brook has been asked by Waldy Malouf, Co-Owner/Chef of Beacon in New York City, to print the t-shirts for his newest restaurant called “High Heat”.

The t-shirts are Sand, Gildan, G200 6.1 oz. Ultra Cotton® T-Shirt made in 100% preshrunk cotton. The High Heat logo will be printed large on the back of the t-shirt and a small locomotive will be printed on the left chest.

Although the most popular method of printing t-shirts is screen printing, Crooked Brook t-shirts are printed using Direct to Garment Printing (digital garment printing or DTG) which is the process of using inkjet printers to print an image directly onto t-shirts without the use of screens like with screen printing, which requires a lot of setup e.g., creating screens for each color.

In addition, DTG printing uses eco-friendly, water soluble ink, unlike some screen printing methods that layer Plastisol (a suspension of PVC particles in a plasticizer) on top of the t-shirt. The only requirement for DTG printing is for the image to be high resolution, resulting in photograph quality printing with no setup fee or minimums for custom t-shirts.
About Waldy Malouf

Waldy Malouf is the Co-Owner/Chef of Beacon in New York and High Heat is the first restaurant opened of a three restaurant concept offering pizza, burgers and wine and beer on tap. The wine will be on tap in efforts to 'go green' and eliminate some use of plastics.
Malouf is the author of The Hudson River Valley Cookbook, which was nominated for a Julia Child Cookbook Award from the IACP and was named one of year’s ten best by the New York Times in 1995. Waldy’s second book, written with Melissa Clark, is High Heat: Grilling and Roasting Year-Round with Master Chef Waldy Malouf.

Waldy has developed a cuisine that presents the culinary riches of New York State's Hudson River Valley, a subject he explored in his first book. He owns three restaurants, Beacon Restaurant and Bar in midtown Manhattan, Beacon Restaurant and Bar in Stamford, Connecticut, and Waldy’s Wood Fired Pizza & Penne.

He also owns Waldy Malouf Hospitality Concepts, Inc., a consulting company that specializes in developing and managing food and beverage operations. With over 30 years experience in developing and managing successful food and beverage operations; together with a core team of industry professionals, his firm offers over 100 years combined experience in hotel and restaurant management.

Waldy graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in 1975 and then went on to cook in many of the best restaurants in New York City and environs. His professional experience includes affiliations with The Four Seasons, La Côte Basque, the St. Regis Hotel, La Cremaillere in Banksville, New York, the Hudson River Club, and The Rainbow Room—where he earned three stars from the New York Times.
