SAVVi, a US-based toy manufacturer and the global leader in temporary tattoos, has announced a newly developed retail product. Fashion Skinz is scheduled for placement at retail for Fall 2010. Previewed at the 2009 Dallas Toy Fair, this never-before-seen fashion product is a response to the customization trend among young consumers.
“We developed Fashion Skinz in Summer 2009 and previewed the product at the Dallas Toy Fair in October 2009,” explained Ian Cooper, VP of Retail Sales for SAVVi. “It was very well received; so much so that Michaels, one of our largest retail partners, rushed the product in for Summer 2010 placement.”
Exclusive to SAVVi, Fashion Skinz are removable, reusable peel-and-stick fashion based on the hottest styles for girls this fall. They are as durable as a canvas patch but require no glue or iron transfer. The product is made from high quality woven canvas that won’t tear, stretch, leave a sticky residue, or damage any surface. Fashion Skinz is scheduled for release this fall in two sizes and three themes: the Designer Activity Kit featuring specialty jewels, glitter glue, and matching tattoos, and the Medium Box also featuring specialty jewels.
“The trend right now is customization and personalization, especially for young consumers. To be successful, brands must respond and create products in line with these trends. That is what SAVVi has done with Fashion Skinz,” said Heather Nathanson, SAVVi’s VP of Marketing and New Product Development. “Iron-ons are permanent and intended for a one-time use whereas Fashion Skinz are designed to be reused up to 100 times on many different surfaces.”
SAVVi has secured distribution of impulse items and activity kits into all major retail channels with partners including Wal-Mart, Toys ‘R Us, and Michaels.
