We've been around for a long time
Novato, Calif. (Vocus) September 1, 2009
In response to rapid growth in national sales, West Coast SignWorks, a premier custom sign company and manufacturer located just north of San Francisco, changed its name to Blue Pond Signs.
“We’ve been around for a long time,” said Ken Miller, president of Blue Pond Signs. “But over the past few years our presence on the Web has given us great visibility to businesses all over the country. Since out-of-state sales now represent more than 50 percent of our overall business, it no longer makes sense for us to have ‘West Coast’ in our name.”
With more than 35 years of experience designing and building custom signs, West Coast SignWorks is a trusted and respected name in the signage industry. Miller admitted there was some hesitation and risk involved with the change, but said that the evolution of the business really required a re-branding strategy.
Miller said Long-term clients have asked how the name “Blue Pond Signs” was selected.
“The naming process was a really fun and creative experience for us,” Miller said. “We ended up selecting ‘Blue Pond Signs’ because it really rang resonant with everyone here. It’s a subtle nod to the big blue pond we see every day – the Pacific Ocean. At the same time, it also conjures up images of creativity, calm, clarity and simplicity – all characteristics that are important to us.”
These are also characteristics that Blue Pond Signs’ clients have come to rely upon.
“We do everything we can to make the process of buying signs simple and clear,” Miller said. “Many of our clients have limited experience with signage, and look to us for expertise and guidance with this important purchase. The reason we sell signs, not just in San Francisco, but also in Dallas, New York, Miami and Chicago is that clients see the quality of our work on our Web site, and see that same quality reflected in our sales consultants when they call us.”
Blue Pond Signs’ business model has brought continued success, even in the current challenges of the global economy.
“When people come to us for their signage, it’s immediately apparent to them that we’ll be here for many years to come,” Miller said. “When you offer an outstanding product, stellar customer service and competitive pricing, people will still seek you out even in hard economic times. I’m incredibly optimistic about our business, and I’m really excited about this next chapter in our evolution.”
Miller said Blue Pond Signs creates office signs, directory signs and other business signs, which it ships nearly anywhere in the world. They ship their signs with complete installation instructions, and the great majority of their signs can be installed with just common tools.
