The owners of The Curtain Exchange, a custom curtain and luxury drapery store in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, supported The Taste, a dinner and silent auction event benefiting the Mary Bird Perkins-Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Center. The Curtain Exchange of Baton Rouge donated $1,000 in The Curtain Exchange gift certificates to the silent auction. The combined funds from the auction and ticket sales came to over $145,000. All proceeds went to the Mary Bird Perkins – Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Center to provide cancer treatment services and spread awareness.

The Taste was held at the Belle of Baton Rouge Casino and Hotel on April 11, 2013 and attracted more than five hundred guests. The event featured cuisine from local restaurants and caterers, and the silent auction featured donated items from local businesses, including gift certificates to The Curtain Exchange. Proceeds from the event will go towards providing cancer treatment and transportation services for uninsured and underinsured patients at the Mary Bird Perkins – Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Center, as well as towards awareness campaigns providing community education and early detection screenings.
