Since HP’s purchase of 3com, support for the NBX series phone system was first reduced and now completely withdrawn from HP’s telephony roadmap. Due to this, CyberStreams, previously a 12 year certified partner for the NBX series has chosen a new partnership with Adtran’s rising star: the NetVanta 7000 phone system suite.

Senior IT Consultant Mark Jagger explains the decision: “The Adtran phone systems, like the 3Com NBX series, appeals to the IT Director’s desire for enterprise grade equipment at a small business price. Adtran recognizes this and is offering an aggressive promotion to the existing owners of NBX phone systems whom appear to have an unclear support model going forward.”
Mark elaborates on this, “To say Adtran is eager to take 3Com’s old market share would be a serious understatement. The current offer is tremendous, allowing clients to exchange old 3Com phones for new Adtran phones at no cost“.

The offer Jagger is referring to above is for a direct phone for phone exchange. 3Com customers can turn in old phones (working, not working, doesn’t matter), and Adtran will give them brand new Adtran 706 or 712 phones (their $300 executive model).
