Ride Buddy Pro Ride Summary

Until now, there has been no simple application for the everyday athlete to track and manage which workouts should be done and exactly how many minutes or hours these workouts need to be done to get fit. Ride Buddy Pro is that application.

Cycling Fusion, enhancing the outdoor ride with indoor cycling training, today announced that its world-class, mobile, indoor-cycling-training application, Ride Buddy™ Pro, is available on iTunes for $4.99.*

An exercise training application with the built-in expertise of Sally Edward’s Heart Zones® (system of cardiovascular training), Ride Buddy Pro focuses on controlling a user’s stress/adaptation cycle to improve fitness levels, lose weight and become a better rider.

“Until now, there has been no simple application for the everyday athlete to track and manage which workouts should be done and exactly how many minutes or hours these workouts need to be done to get fit. Ride Buddy Pro is that application,” said Gene Nacey, Chief Cycling Officer, Cycling Fusion. “Based on the science of training and evidence-based-cycling, Ride Buddy Pro is designed to bring about the kind of improved fitness levels that all athletes want. It enables the cyclist to manage and execute his or her training plan proactively to achieve a specific Training Load at the end of each indoor or outdoor ride. The Training Load numbers provide personalized, performance-based information to improve fitness levels for both weight loss and improvements in one’s riding ability,”

How It Works
Ride Buddy Pro works in connection with the Cycling Fusion’s web application, Ride Journal. Ride Journal™ is an on-line software program designed to guide indoor or outdoor cyclists toward a Training Load level that will achieve their goals and manage the process toward the ultimate goal, adaptation. Adaptation, as evidenced by one’s riding, is the capability of riding faster on flat surfaces, riding stronger on climbs and/or simply losing weight. Once the user tells Ride Journal how much time he/she has available to work out each day, the Journal projects the timing and activities to be done within each workout and downloads the instructions to the user’s iPhone or iPod.

Ride Buddy Pro allows the rider to choose from 45 different metrics, select pre-assigned rides, see performance levels as they happen and review specific numeric Training Load goals that have been accomplished at the end of each ride. Ride Buddy Pro can then be automatically uploaded to Cycling Fusion’s Ride Journal™.

Ride Journal also allows for a personal coach to assign workouts or rides to students or provide those for the user to select on his own. These can be downloaded to Ride Buddy to guide the rider during the ride.

*The Ride Buddy Pro application requires the Wahoo Fitness ANT+ Key (commonly referred to as a "dongle") to operate. These can be purchased from many sites including the Cycling Fusion store. Ride Buddy Pro also works with any ANT+ compatible sensor on outdoor bikes as well as the newer indoor bikes with computer consoles.
