Cydcor Named Among San Fernando Valley’s 2009 “Best Places to Work” For Second Year

Cydcor, the leading provider of outsourced, face-to-face sales teams, was named among the “Best Places to Work” by the San Fernando Valley Business Journal for the second year in a row and ranked #14 for area mid-sized companies.

The Business Journal and Best Companies Group worked together to identify and recognize area companies with a strong commitment to workplace excellence. Both publicly and privately held organizations were selected based on benefits, corporate philanthropy, policies, work-life balance, internal working conditions, local management, camaraderie and support of employees’ personal growth. Selections were based on company surveys and employee comments.

Cydcor was specifically recognized for a supportive work environment and culture, open communication, quality and commitment of management and benefits. Team members are eligible for benefits in the month following their hire date. Beginning in their first year, each team member receives 15 days of sick and vacation time and one day of paid time to volunteer at an organization of their choice. Cydcor provides an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), including mental health counseling and referrals, wellness and smoking cessation programs.

In order to maintain open communication between company leaders and team members, Cydcor provides an open-door policy, monthly company meetings, team member surveys, Cydcor Community – the company’s intranet, and lunches with the CEO.

The company culture is guided by a distinct set of highly valued behaviors. “Our values aren’t just words on paper. They are well thought out actions that represent who we are and what we do for our clients,” said Vera Quinn, senior vice president of Operations who leads the biggest team at Cydcor. “Cydcor team members are rewarded monthly for exhibiting the Behaviors We Value, encouraging that these values live on in our daily interactions.”

Cydcor also puts a large emphasis on corporate philanthropy. “Community involvement is a key component of Cydcor’s culture,” said Cydcor President Jim Majeski. “Becoming conscientious of community involvement strengthens both our business and our community.” This past year, the company hosted Business Building Blocks, a weekend filled with philanthropic and training activities with the Boys & Girls Club of Venice for soon-to-be office owners. Cydcor also hosted a toy drive to benefit Childrens Hospital Los Angeles during its annual corporate kick-off meeting. Last fall, Cydcor donated groceries and hygiene products to a Manna-sponsored food drive and helped more than 500 Sylmar families who lost their homes in the Sayre fire. Last spring, the company joined the ranks of Ventura county businesses for some friendly competition during the 2009 Ventura Corporate Games. Cydcor kicked off its participation by lending a hand (and a shovel) at one of the group’s community service events – the Harbor Wetlands Restoration Project.

Cydcor kicked off 2009 with a brand-new headquarters in Westlake Village, Calif. Approximately 100 Los Angeles area employees moved into Conejo Valley’s Westlake Park Place, a new 27-acre campus style office development. Occupying the entire 4th floor with 20,000 square feet, Cydcor’s new space is almost twice the size of its current location, which the company occupied for the past seven years.
