DeviantART, the world’s largest online art community, with 22 million registered members, announced today that Daniel Bornstein has been appointed as the company’s new Vice President of Advertising Sales, responsible for leading direct advertising efforts and growing a team focused on spotlighting the unique branding opportunity the deviantART platform lends with its 2.5 billion monthly page views and art-centric membership base. Bornstein will report directly to deviantART CEO and co-founder, Angelo Sotira.

Bornstein rose through the ranks during his five years at Google, most recently leading its new business development team for the UK and Ireland while based out of its European headquarters. In this role, he worked closely with direct response-based businesses and well-known agencies and also addressed industry crowds at multiple Google sponsored events. Prior to Google, Bornstein worked within the e-commerce and technology sales industries. In addition to his role at dA, Bornstein has been named the Interactive Advertising Bureau’s (IAB) Southern California ambassador, piloting a new program designed to increase regional collaboration between the IAB and its members.
In his new role at deviantART, Bornstein will further the company’s reputation for developing some of the most compelling integrated brand campaigns on the Internet today. DeviantART garners over 65 million unique users monthly and has been the platform or choice for brands such as Dodge, Microsoft, Dr Pepper and production houses for major feature films like “Inception” (a creative contest judged by director Christopher Nolan) and Warner Brothers’ “Dark Shadows.”

Bornstein holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya, Israel. He also earned a master’s degree in economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
