Dahn Yoga news this year connects the past, present and future as Dahn Yoga & Health Centers, Inc. celebrates its 15th anniversary. Over the years, Dahn Yoga benefits like improved strength and flexibility, relaxation and stress reduction have been extended to many thousands in the United States through the efforts of this company.
The roots of Dahn Yoga began with Ilchi Lee who developed this unique system of mind-body practices based on Korean Taoist teachings. The Dahn Yoga community includes practitioners all around the world, but began with Lee teaching exercises to a stroke victim in a public park in South Korea in 1980. Within little more than a decade, the universal appeal of these holistic living and empowerment techniques saw expansion to other countries, most notably the United States.
Students of Ilchi Lee taught Dahn Yoga basics in several U.S. cities before formally organizing as one company in 1996. Dahn Yoga developed and diversified as a practice while the company expanded to more cities. The Dahn Yoga health approach holistically integrates ancient wisdom to modern life skills, a practice which has changed and adapted itself over the years, but continues to help individuals across the country unlock their true potential.
During the remainder of 2011, the company’s 15th anniversary will be celebrated with national and locally-based events, expanded outreach and community service activities, and informational series. As in the past, Dahn Yoga will find new ways to help individuals improve their strength, balance and energy through exercises based on Korean Tao philosophy.
