Dahn Yoga & Health Centers, Inc., one of the nation's leaders in health and wellness, announces a Community Spotlight for September 2011. It celebrates the story of Lynden Bridges, a Colorado resident who grew from a novice practitioner to one of the standout members of his Dahn Yoga community in just four short years.
Bridges first immersed himself in Dahn Yoga exercises in 2007 after enrolling in a class with his wife at the Kipling Center in Littleton, Colorado. Although the session proved to be incredibly challenging, the 66-year-old former Stanford University professor was determined to succeed. By the end of 2008 Bridges had blossomed into a skilled Dahn Yoga practitioner and earned a black belt in DahnMuDo.
Lynden credits the very nature of DahnMuDo - a system that allows individuals use the limitlessness power within themselves to integrate their mind, body and spirit - to the root of his success.
"The martial arts I had taken before at other places were offensive and defensive," he says. "There was no spirituality at the heart of it. DahnMuDo is all about opening the mind to cosmic energy. The most rewarding part is watching the students realize they are a lot more than they thought. The change is remarkable."
Bridges has been spending the better part of 2011 teaching DahnMuDo to children and helping their physical and mental states thrive. He admits his dream is to continue on this path and share the DahnMuDo and Dahn Yoga benefits with as many individuals as possible and allow the citizens of the world express themselves through the mind-body connection.
