the yoga most people know is only part of an important process. Yoga calms the body and mind in preparation for meditation. Through meditation we can access our true power to heal ourselves and the world around us.
Gilbert, AZ (PRWEB) September 09, 2011
This year on the tenth anniversary of the tragic events known as 9/11, Dahn Yoga commemorates this day by observing a day of special meditation. The Dahn Yoga community of practitioners and instructors will set aside time on Sunday to engage in energy meditation. In addition, Dahn Yoga encourages everyone to sit in silence while sending healing intention and thoughts to the victims, their families and all who were affected.
Dahn Yoga recognizes the large scale pain and fear that resulted from the tragic events on September 11, 2001. Though those events took place in New York City, they touched every individual and community in the United States, and some might say, the world. At the time, Dahn Yoga responded to the collective sense of mourning by creating special classes for self-healing and empowerment, with the hope that these efforts would extend to the wider communities.
Hopefully, we have gained more than we have lost from the experience. Ten years later, many thousands of people in this country now recognize in themselves the innate capacity for healing that is within all humans.Since that time, yoga has become widespread in American culture and has probably helped many people cope during challenging times. According to Dahn Yoga CEO, Dong Hoon Cha, “the yoga most people know is only part of an important process. Yoga calms the body and mind in preparation for meditation. Through meditation we can access our true power to heal ourselves and the world around us.”
The Dahn Yoga community will remember 9/11 and hopes to do something constructive through meditation, continuing the learning of an important lesson. We cannot always control our circumstances, but we can learn mastery of how we respond. Together, we can transform how adversity affects our lives.
