Dahn Yoga & Health Centers, Inc., one of the nation's leaders in health and wellness, announces a Dahn Yoga Community Spotlight for May 2011. It highlights the continued commitment of a New York Dahn Yoga instructor who shares the benefits of the exercise with everyone from retirees to college students throughout her community.
An asset to the Dahn Yoga community, seventy-four-year-old Marion Goddard had been a self-proclaimed introvert before she discovered Dahn Yoga classes. Later she developed energy and confidence that changed her perspective about her capabilities. She has since helped others experience the benefits of Dahn Yoga by teaching outreach classes and even recording a hospital-sponsored Dahn Yoga DVD. Amazingly, the septuagenarian also takes the time to lead meditation walking groups and pen articles for local newsletters.
Marion's students are extremely grateful for her engaging teaching style, and the numerous thank you cards, messages and poems she has received throughout the years are a testament to this. The feeling is mutual, as Marion loves teaching as much as her students love learning. She feels it "is so meaningful because it helps you grow when you actively reach outside of your own social group and connect with diverse people."
