I feel like Brain Education is a blessing not only to me but also to my community because it really goes hand in hand with our cultural teachings.

In the December issue of their newsletter, Dahn Yoga & Health Centers, Inc., a national leader in health and wellness, announces a partnership with the International Brain Education Association (IBREA) that will bring holistic brain education training to the children of New Mexico's Zuni Pueblo.

This is Dahn Yoga partner IBREA's first project in the U.S., and through their efforts the Zuni children will receive twelve weeks of Brain Education beginning in January of 2013. Project Coordinator Roxanne Luna, who was born and raised in the Zuni Pueblo, a Native American community located about 150 miles west of Albuquerque, New Mexico is interviewed about the project in in the December issue of the newsletter, Dahn Yoga Life.

Luna discovered Dahn Yoga classes in 2010 and Dahn Yoga Life shares her experiences as well as the benefits she has enjoyed through the practice and through her own Brain Education training. “I feel like Brain Education is a blessing not only to me but also to my community because it really goes hand in hand with our cultural teachings. You know, ‘you always seek inside,’ and ‘everything lies within.’ This is a very traditional community—one of the more traditional, so I really feel like it complements our culture very well,” she comments.

Luna, who taught a Dahn Yoga class at the Zuni Native American Reservation, introduced Brain Education to the community and presented the idea of the classes for the twenty four to forty eight seventh graders who will attend.

Fundraising is in process and the Dahn Yoga community has joined forces to help. As excitement grows within the small community, Luna adds, “I saw results in myself. Naturally, that led me to want to take it back home." This month's issue of Dahn Yoga Life contains more information on this and other groundbreaking new projects.
