A three business day payment cycle was beyond anything they imagined, especially considering prior to DaisyBill their average bill payment cycle was 100 days.

January 1, 2013 will mark the beginning of a new era for the California workers’ compensation system. Providers should be prepared for how these changes will affect their practice and what it could mean for their bottom line. DaisyBill, California’s only workers’ compensation E-billing solution, has been monitoring these changes so their providers don’t have to. Previously only open to a select few providers and third party billers, DaisyBill has, for a limited time, opened up its invitations to all California workers’ compensation providers and third party billers.

DaisyBill takes advantage of the California workers’ compensation electronic billing laws, effective October 18, 2012, which mandate that complete, electronically-submitted bills are required to be paid within 15 business days of the carrier receiving the bill. Upon submitting a bill, DaisyBill ensures the bill is received by the carrier and upon receipt sets an alarm to make sure carriers comply with the 15 business day payment rule. With DaisyBill, providers can submit their bills electronically, and can be confident that they are being submitted correctly the first time. Something DaisyBill co-founder Sarah Moray, states “can reduce denials up to 80% which adds up quickly as submitting a second bill can cost a provider upwards of $23 per bill.”

Ms. Moray, described one DaisyBill practice that received a payment and EOR three business days after submitting their bill. “This practice was desperate for a solution to their work comp billing woes. Within days of signing up with DaisyBill, they started receiving electronic remittance and payments. One bill was submitted on 11/14, received by the carrier on 11/15, and a paper check and electronic remittance was received in their practice on 11/20. A three business day payment cycle was beyond anything they imagined, especially considering prior to DaisyBill their average bill payment cycle was 100 days.”

Workers’ compensation providers across California are reaping the benefits of DaisyBill, the only workers’ compensation E-billing solution. Traditional medical billing systems are not designed to manage the complexities of workers’ compensation billing. DaisyBill was designed with this problem in mind. DaisyBill does all the hard work and makes anyone a work comp billing expert:

No more mailing bills - DaisyBill sends bills electronically
No more denied bills - DaisyBill know all the work comp coding and billing rules
No more calling carriers to track bills - DaisyBill electronically tracks every bill
No more posting payments - DaisyBill posts every payment
No more short payments - DaisyBill knows all fee schedules and analyzes every bill for accuracy and sends appeals for inaccurate payments.

Without e-billing, it is impossible to know if and when bills are received by carriers without laborious cost prohibitive phone calls. DaisyBill submits all bills electronically, eliminating the need for phone calls and shortening the payment cycle.

DaisyBill was founded by Catherine Montgomery and Sarah Moray who have a combined 18 years experience in workers’ compensation medical billing. They also run the website claritymbr.com, a free resource for those who wrestle with workers’ compensation billing.
