Daisy Brains is attracting an entirely new kind of gamer – women. Across the United States, women with names like Carol, Judy and Beverly are playing brain games on DaisyBrains.com.

The entire site has been created with women in mind, and it shows. Artful design is evident across the brain teasers, drawing challenges and brain games. “I had never played computer games before Daisy Brains, but I wanted to keep my memory sharp. Daisy Brains gives my brain the boost it needs,” says Donna Brooks, age 59.

Baby boomer women are the fastest growing age group joining the start-up website. Maintaining optimal brain performance is a priority for women. Women live, on average, seven years longer than men, and women are being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease at double the rate of men. Since launching in late February, the site has received more than 20,000 site visitors, with a new member joining about every 10 minutes.

Cognitive trainer and co-creator, Claire Herring notes, “Research proves that change is good for the brain. Studies find that the memory and language areas of our brain show measurable changes when we are curious about something or tackling a new kind of problem. Upping the curiosity factor matters – that’s why our development team builds new workouts for its members every single day.”

Given the strong response from consumers, Daisy Brains is headed down the path to obtain venture capital funding in order to evolve the site and expand the product reach worldwide. “Things are moving even more quickly than we had imagined. We are thrilled that Daisy Brains is delivering the kind of workout so many women are asking for,” says Herring.

Daisy Brains is a subscription-based website that includes a multi-day free trial prior to joining as a full member. The site offers a variety of membership options and includes women's health articles and information in addition to brain exercises.

Founded in February 2012, Daisy Brains’ mission is to challenge the brain fitness levels of women everywhere. Anyone can sign up for a free trial to experience the new brain workouts that http://www.daisybrains.com has to offer. Daisy Brains is privately held under The Rowing Team, LLC and is based in Richmond, Virginia.
